2 - OPINION GIVEN BY THE HDR COMMITTEE + CD3 VALIDATION
The application for one-off approval to supervise a thesis is presented by the Referent to the HDR committee.
When assessing the application, the HDR committee will seek to answer the following question: "On completion of the thesis project, will the candidate meet the minimum criteria for authorization to prepare the HDR? We strongly recommend that you consult the page describing these criteria HERE
If the committee's opinion is favorable and the doctoral student's application to supervise the thesis has not been accepted by the Doctoral School (see admission criteria HERE), the request for approval is presented to the Doctoral College's Commission for Doctoral Exemptions and Derogations (CD3).
Once approved by the committee, the candidate is authorized to supervise a thesis and undertakes to defend his or her work, with a view to obtaining the HDR, no later than 6 months after the defense of the thesis for which approval has been obtained.
The candidate can begin writing the manuscript for the HDR.
